Norman Holder: Norman was Willie Allsebrook's
assistant at Wood Lane. Norman was from Barbados and had a charming
personality. It was through Norman that I became friendly with Allse, as
we called him, and Norman taught me a whole lot about how to get along
with Allse's idiosyncrasies. The last I heard of Norman is that he may
have emigrated to Canada.
Paul Farthing: Paul was another of my colleagues
at BDR. Amongst other things we played as bridge partners for BICC in the
Business Houses League etc. He was a really nice chap, and I have no idea
where he is or what became of him after he left BICC.
Ralph Wijesinghe: Ralph was another of my
contemporaries at BDR. He was employed in the workshop and was an
extremely skilled technician who could make almost anything. He left for
Canada, and I last saw him in San Franciscoat a time when I happened to be
there and he was making a holiday trip by car from somewhere in Western
Canada going south along the western seaboard of America to visit Yosemite
and similar places.
Brian Lewis: Brian worked as my assistant in BDR
and I'm sure that he will always remember a prank which I played on him,
much to his discomfiture at the time. I have the idea that he may still be
around and may now be a member of the I.E.E., but I have no justification
for this.
